About me
Hi, I'm Josh!
I am a dedicated music educator and professional performer with a deep commitment to fostering a lifelong love of music in students of all ages. I hold a Bachelor of Education (K-12) from the University of New England and am a NESA Proficient Teacher.
My teaching is grounded in the belief that music is not only one of the best things we can do for our mental health - it is also a 'neuroprotective' activity that enhances brain plasticity and cognitive health. I bring this philosophy into my current in my role as a music educator at Bishop Druitt College.
Throughout my career, I have been privileged to perform and mentor within the regional music community, including current involvement with Mark Walton's touring 'Cafe Latte Orchestra', Clarence Valley Orchestra and Bowraville Theatre Singers; as well as casual involvement with Bellingen Youth Orchestra (tuition) and the Coffs Harbour City Orchestra. I have also had the honor of participating as a symphonist for the Sydney Symphony Orchestra’s Playerlink program and receiving private tutelage from Mark Walton, former Chair of Woodwind at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
